About Department of Political Science
The Department of Political Science was started in 1924 at Under Graduate level and further in 1955 a Post Graduate level was added. During the period of last 94 years, the Department has grown under the academic leadership of DR. S. P. Sohani (1952-1973),S. G. Mulay(1973-1977), A. B. Deshpande (1977-1997) and L. M. Somnotra(1997-2003).
Department strives to develop and promote leadership and sensitivity among students by cultivating interdisciplinary approach in them. The Department strives for the development of responsible citizens by imparting democratic values in students. The Department focuses on the development of “Social Science research” aptitude among students through various programmes and by harmonization of traditional and modern methodology.
